Luke Garbutt joins Ipswich Town until end of the season
Town have completed the signing of Luke Garbutt on loan from Everton.
The 26-year-old full-back put pen to paper on a deal that will see him stay at Portman Road until the end of the season.
Luke spent the last campaign on loan at Oxford United, where he played 25 league games and scored four goals, while also turning out for Cheltenham Town, Colchester United, Fulham and Wigan Athletic in the past.
The Harrogate-born defender has also represented his England up to U21 level, winning his last cap in 2015.
Luke follows in the footsteps of fellow Toffees Conor Grant, Callum Connolly and Matthew Pennington who have all had loan spells with Blues in recent years.
Everton outcast Luke Garbutt has been discussing his future after a blistering start to life at loan club Ipswich Town.
As reported by the East Anglian Daily Times, Garbutt is open to a permanent move to Portman Road and admitted he would like to finally settle down in one location after years of loan moves.
He also made it clear that Everton are still tracking his progress.
“Everton were at the Fleetwood game watching and they’re pleased with the progress I’m making but my sole focus is making sure I play to the best of my ability for Ipswich Town Football Club and to make sure we get promoted this season.
“So as long as we keep playing well and doing well as a squad I don’t see why I wouldn’t stay permanently. I’m settled and enjoying my football…
“…I do eventually want to settle down at a club I feel I belong at and I feel I have a home, where I can push on with my career and perform.”
